Vindolanda

We were appointed as part of the professional design team to create a new 21st century post excavation and excavation centre on the World Heritage site of Vindolanda. The facility will enable the continued future exploration of the archaeological remains at the site.

Pele Tower, Creswell

We have been worked closely with Architect John Curtis in developing a services solution which complements this listed scheduled ancient monument but also provides facility to enable this to become a popular visitor attraction.  We have provided detailed design for new lighting, heating and ventilation systems.

Kielder Tipi’s

We assisted with the design and engineering associated with a new attraction at Leaplish Kielder. A new collection of Tipi tented structures are being erected for entertainment purposes at this popular venue. Kyoob have assisted with general power and lighting designs along with sympathetic external lighting designs bearing in mind the dark skies policy

St George’s Church, Jesmond

Kyoob were appointed directly by a charitable trust to design, tender and contract administrate the installation of external floodlighting to this grade 1 listed church building. This appointment further strengthens our significant experience in the ecclesiastic sector. The completion of the installation was celebrated by some 800 visitors attending a church service and firework display.

Seven Stories - National Centre for Childrens Books

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Seven Stories undertook a significant refurbishment across the building.  This included new lighting installations, acoustic measures to the gallery close control cooling units, new close control units to the level 6 gallery, new audio/visual system and general upgrades to power and data systems.  Seven Stories have recently been awarded gold in the Best Large Visitor Attraction at the North East Tourism Awards since re-opening.  It really was a pleasure working on this project and we look forward to continuing our relationship in future.

St Bartholomew’s Church, Newbiggin

We  completed specialist lighting designs at St Bartholomew’s church in Newbiggin.  The work was completed on a tight budget using local suppliers and contractors which enabled fine tuning and “tweaking” to be undertaken quickly. We’re sure you’ll agree that it looks pretty spectacular.

This is one of many ecclesiastical projects we are currently working on, watch this space for further updates.

The Old Low Light, North Shields

We undertook detailed design for the refurbishment of this listed building.  As with most listed properties, we had to take great care in the design of building services systems to satisfy heritage requirements whilst making the building a pleasant place to visit. We were on site a lot during construction to ensure our design intent was realised.

St Aidan’s Church, Bamburgh

Ed has recently completed specialist lighting designs to St Aidans’ shrine and the chancel in Bamburgh. The new shrine was designed by Donald Buttress OBE, currently Surveyor Emeritus at Westminster Abbey. The work was completed on a tight budget using local suppliers and contractors which enabled fine tuning and “tweaking” to be undertaken quickly.
